The Catholic Code of Canon Law (Canon#537) mandates a parish finance council in each parish. The role of the parish finance council is to advise and assist the pastor of the parish in all matters pertaining to parish finances and parish staff in planning the budget and in overseeing and controlling the financial affairs of the parish. If you have knowledge of accounting, finance, budgeting, and/or development, we would like to invite you to consider joining St. Mary Finance Council. The Finance Council meets quarterly on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:00pm.
For more information, please contact
Ron Pelzel, Finance Council Chair
If you have one or more of the following “handyman” skills: Mechanical skills ~ Electrical skills ~ Painting skills ~ Plumbing skills ~ Carpentry skills ~ General handyman skills or any experience in mechanical, carpentry, masonry, handyman tasks, construction, etc. or would like to help in planning and/or executing general repairs on parish facilities and grounds we would like to hear from you.
This ministry monitors the condition of the physical environment and advises the Finance and Pastoral Councils of current facility and grounds status. It functions as a resource for general repairs and saves the parish money by performing repairs and projects instead of hiring others to do them whenever possible. It helps the Finance Council to coordinate and plan capital expenditures.
